Shit happens.

Just got back from NUH visiting my long time fixie riding pal. Mr Bertram Leong.
Will be visiting the hospital regularly to see it through.

Story? He and a couple of friends were riding along Ngee Ann Poly main road on sunday evening around 9pm. All of them had helmets and blinkers. Everything a safe rider should have.

Then comes along a (speeding,drunk,mad) driver. And nails 2 of them from behind. He fled the scene immediately, but there were too many other witnesses by the road and the other riders that were not hit. The impact was so great that his number plate came off and was left behind. 20mins later the driver returns for his number plate. Only to find the cops waiting for him. He is gonna get the LONG LONG arm of the law on his sorry ass.

What about the injured? Bertram has severe spinal injuries. A great big gash on his right side of his face. And severe head injuries, so bad that a portion of his brain tissue is still leaking.

His other friend. Ben. Is officially brain dead and they are simply waiting to pull the plug when the family is ready.

Damnit. Innocent lives are once again lost to reckless and eff'ed up people.
