Finally got it.

Went down to comcentre to reserve my piece today.
With trade-in value and the $100 voucher. It's free.

Like Andrew said. And I feel it myself. It has served me well for 2 years. Everyday without fail, on for 24hrs, buttons mashed till home button is not working properly, vibration button is loose and millions of tabs on the touchscreen. It's time to go.....

Hooters and China Yo-yos.

Dinner at Hooters tonight. Food were not fantastic, price was average, drinks were freaking expensive. Only thing worth were the Buffalo Wings. $0.90 a piece. Tastes great!
And Colin came back from the China Yo-yo Nationals with some goodies for us. I got myself an oversized metal Yoyo. ( I have no idea what's its name, anyone knows?)

Tour De france for dummies.

For the unaware. It's actually more exciting than you think.

Home.

This has always been one of the best National Day songs. There are new ones every year. But none seem to be able to top this.

This year's by Corrine May is alright. But I hope those by electrico and Taufik & Rui En never see the light of day ever again. Horrible horrible horrible......

Infected.

A dark retrospective

I remember mentioning it on my blog sometime back. However I came across this picture again and I just can't help but to mention it again.

I saw this picture almost 4 years ago. And this was what converted me to riding a fixed gear bicycle.
(I was a mountain biker all my life, until this happened)

Well like I mentioned in my previous post I have moved into Singlespeed. So although my bike may not be as clean and simple looking as this, it still has the essence.

wake up and be grateful

National day is coming. And I know to many its nothing more than a public holiday and a waste of tax payers money on the ever increasing elaborate celebrations.

Well first let me state that I am proud to be a Singaporean. There is no where else in the world I can imagine living in.

There is positive progress in every form other countries can only dream of. We have economic stability, great education, extreme personal safety and so much more that all of us simply take for granted.

So next time you have a gripe with the country or the government. First ask yourself how you can make it better. Its easy to point fingers when things go wrong. But who thanks the country when your primary school daughter can walk home safely at night? Or the simple fact that she has an education? Never ever take all these for granted. Never.

Nobody is perfect. But we are sure damn near there.

Disconnected.

I never thought how cliche it was when people who rode Fixed Gear bikes described them as "ZEN" and "your bike is an extension of your body" and "you feel connected to the ground" etc.

With age catching up on my knees and various concerns about my safety and well being I decided to put my fixed gear riding behind me. At least it was a part of my cycling life.

I just made the switch over the the world of Single Speeds. That's normal freewheeling goodness for you non "bikey" folks. It simply means a one geared coasting bicycle. The most basic and normal bike. aka "ah pek" bike.

Well I can't agree more after the switch. Although I only rode around the bike shop and from the carpark home. The feeling of "connectivity" is really lost. I don't know if it's a good or bad thing. It's still too early to come to a conclusion.

One thing's for sure. If I ever ride fixed again. I will leave my brakes on. My knees are not strong enough for braking anymore.

Quote from a bike article (which I can't rem the source) -

"Bicycle safety on the roads means staying alive"

Dreaming of solace

Take me to a place where the shops are no taller than 3 stories, along the roads and avenues, where bars are alfresco and the weather is cold.

Let me sit there and have a beer, and absorb in the atmosphere.

School's back. But this time redundancy reigns.....

So much to do in school. Yet I am simply flowing through the cracks.
I understand there is nothing much any party can do about it. I'm simply waiting for my time.

Might as well make the best of it.
